FREEMED
FREEMED is a program to aide low-income people with no prescription insurance to
obtain prescription medication at little or no cost. They currently serve people
in ten counties in southeastern Idaho, southwestern Montana and northwestern Wyoming.
FREEMED opened for business in November 2001

FREEMED recieved more than 7,341 enquiries for assistance in 2009, enrolled 260
new clients, reordered more than 2,950 prescriptions, and saved our clients an estimated
$1.8 million. Our operating costs amount to less than 2% of this savings. We receive
no state or federal funds. All our funds come from local foundations and donors.
